Five Maoists killed in encounter


Five Maoists killed in encounter Security forces gunned down five Maoists in an encounter in a forest bordering Ganjam and Gajapati districts of Odisha on Wednesday. “We have received information about the death of five Maoists during an exchange of fire in the jungle. The bodies are yet to be recovered as the operation is still on,” said R K Sharma, DIG (Southern Range). “The slain Maoists belonged to a group headed by Sabyasachi Panda,” he added. AGENCIES
3 jawans, 2 terrorists killed in J&K: Three Army jawans and two terrorists were killed in an encounter at Nowgam along the Line of Control in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Wednesday as the army foiled an infiltration bid. Defence spokesman Lt Col J S Brar said the encounter was on till late in the evening, and the slain terrorists were Pakistani nationals. TNN
