Director General of Civil Aviation chief Bharat Bhushan has removed the top air safety officer R S Passi, from his position and not allotted any new work to him. Passi’s daughter Garima was employed as a pilot with SpiceJet despite her alleged poor performance at an American training school. She then got her licence from a flying school in India. The DGCA has also sought explanation from nine officials whose children are employed with private airlines without the requisite government clearance. Bhushan has also started cracking the whip on officials who may have allegedly misused their position to get jobs for their children. TNN
