The second fast track court on Monday awarded life imprisonment to six convicted Lashkar-e-Tayyeba men for plotting the attack and waging w a r a g a i n s t t h e S t a t e i n December 28, 2005 IISc attack case. One retired professor, Dr Puri from Delhi, was killed in the attack. The sentence was p r o n o u n c e d b y Ju s t i c e GR Revankar. The judge announced ife s e n t e n c e f o r Mo h a m m e Raza-ul-Rehman, Afzal Pasha, M e h b o o b I b r a h i m , Miruddin Khan, Nizamuddin and Munna. They were convicted on Saturday but the announcement of quantum of punishment was deferred. The ttack carried out by the LeT on the direction of India in-charge Muzammil had sent a shock way in the ountry since it was for the first time that such an attack had taken place in the history of IISc.
