Six CISF men among 7 killed in Naxal ambush :- 14.5.12-TOI


Seven persons, including six jawans of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and their civilian driver, were killed in a Naxal ambush in Chhattisgarh's Dantewada district on Sunday night. The jawans, including a head constable and five constables, were on patrol duty guarding the National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) facility in Kirandul when Naxals ambushed them with heavy gunfire at around 9.30pm. An unknown number of jawans were also injured in the ambush and were being rescued from the spot. The jawans, onboard a Bolero being driven by the civilian driver, were outnumbered and killed after a brief retaliation. As per preliminary reports, the Naxals also looted the weapons of the CISF party.
