In a shocking incident, a teenage youth allegedly murdered his father-mother with a sharp-edged weapon at their home in Ulhera village under Sadar Police Station jurisdiction on Sunday. The youth also set their
bodies on fire before fleeing from the spot. The deceased have been identified as Rampal (45) and his wife Guddi. Rampal was engaged with agriculture business in the village. The Sonepat Police have started the investigation after registering a case of murder against the accused- Amit, alias DC- on the complaint of Rampal’s younger brother Mahipal Singh in this regard. The incident came to light on Sunday morning when villagers informed Mahipal (brother of the deceased) about the killings. He reached the village and found the half-burnt bodies of his brother and sister- in-law. He then informed the police. The Sadar Police officials reached the spot and sent the half-burnt bodies to civil hospital for post-mortem after taking stock of the situation. Later, a team of forensic experts also visited the scene of crime and collected some samples
from there for forensic investigation. The preliminary investigation has revealed that Rampal and Guddi were
hacked to death with a sharp edged weapon by Amit when they were sleeping in the courtyard of the house. Later, he set ablaze the bodies by sprinkling kerosene oil on them with an intention to destroy evidences,”
said Balbir Singh, DSP of Sonepat Police while talking to the media. Kin of the deceased have informed the police that Amit had failed in his matriculation examination last year and had
no work to do these days. He also fell into the habit of consuming liquor which was being
resisted by his parents, the DSP added.
“A case of murder has been registered against Amit who is absconding. A hunt has been launched to nab him,” said Balbir Singh
