Charges have been framed against Khijri legislator Sawna Lakra and three others in the court of district udge Anand Bijay Singh. All four are accused of killing Avinash Tiwari, a second year student of Namdhari ollege, Gadhwa, on April 27 after abducting him on April 26. The deceased was allegedly having an affair ith the MLA’s 18-year-old granddaughter. “All four have been charged with murder after abduction and oncealing of evidence. G o p i K a c c h ap a n d Ja n a k Mahto have also been charged under the rms Act,” counsel of Sawna Lakra BN Tripathi s aid. The four have been booked under sections 320, 120B and 201 of the Indian Penal Code. L a k r a 7 0 , h i s d r i v e r Kacchap, bodyguard Mahto and inesh Kumar are accused of the killing of Avinash Tiwari, a 21-year-old part-time worker, at an eating oint in Ranchi. Avinash allegedly had an affair w i t h S a w n a’s 1 8 - y e a r - o l d granddaughter. Lakra had surrendered b e f o r e t h e C h i e f Ju d i c i a l Magistrate in Ranchi on May 25. He had een absconding since May 3 after an FIR was lodged against him at Namkom police station. Tiwari went issing from April 24. His bullet-ridden body was found three days later at Karra, 20 km from here. The victim’s father, Sanjay Tiwari, alleged that Lakra had abducted his son and had killed him because his son anted to marry Lakra’s granddaughter. Lakra had allegedly intercepted Avinash at his residence where e ad come to meet his granddaughter on April 27. Lakra is said to have confined him in the r o o m . Av i managed to call one of his friends from his cell phone after which it was switched off. The court had arlier p a s s e d a n a r r e s t w a r r a nt against Lakra and declared him absconder on May 18 w remain traceless.
