Indore: The luck of a crorepati peon, who has officially received a salary of Rs 12 lakh during his 31 years of service with Ujjain Municipal Corporation (UMC), finally ran out on Wednesday with Madhya Pradesh Lokayukta police raiding his house.
Narendra Deshmukh’s bad luck turned out to be good luck for his neighours in Goverdhan Dham colony, but temporarily, as they woke up to the thud of bundles containing currency notes and jewellery falling in their homes. Surprised residents rushed out of their homes only to find it was no divine shower but an attempt to get rid of stashed cash and jewellery by their neighbour, the millionaire Class IV employee.
Deshmukh is at present officiating as a store-keeper with UMC. He is alleged to own property worth Rs 10 crore and properties in Maharashtra, Haryana and Indore.
