More than a decade after the IC-814 hijack case, the Delhi Police has got definite evidence to the effect that the hijack was monitored and commandeered by Pakistan Army and Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) ather than Taliban-controlled Afghanistan, as had been alleged by Pakistan so far. Investigations into the Jama Masjid attack have thrown actionable links between the IC-814 hijacking case and the Parliament attack (2001) case. Mohammad Adil, alias Ajmal, a Pakistani national and IM operative arrested by the elhi Police, has confessed that Burger, who was killed in the Parliament attack, was part of the Harkat-ul- nsar team that had hijacked IC-814 on December 24, 1999. Ajmal had met Burger in Karachi several times and he was fully aware of the whereabouts of other subversives housed by the ISI. The Delhi olice as found that M a n s u r Ha s n a i n , a k a Su n ny Ahmed Qazi, alias Burger, a resident of Karachi in akistan, was involved in two anti-India operations. It was Burger, who orchestrated the December 24, 999 hijacking of Indian Airlines plane IC-814 from Kathmandu. Burger was one of terrorists who attacked Indian Parliament on December 13, 2001. He was later killed by Indian security forces. The revelation by ohammad Adil, also a resident of Karachi, has stumped the security agencies. Adil, who was arrested by he Special Cell team of the Delhi Police from Madhubani district of Bihar, is singing like a canary and pilled the beans on covert ISI activities on Indian soil. He confessed of meeting Burger many times in arachi and knew him as an active operative of Harkat-ul-Ansar. This outfit was converted into Jaish- Mohammed by Maulana Masood Azhar after his release from the Indian prison. It was Azhar, along with ushtaq Zargar and Omar Sheikh Syed, who was traded by the then Government for the safe release of he passengers of IC-814. Adil confessed that Burger was one of the five hijackers who were especially rained by the ISI handlers for hijacking an aircraft. Flight no IC-814 of the Indian Airlines from athmandu o Delhi was selected after much deliberation. After the successful operation of IC-814, Burger was selected by Maulana Masood Azahar to t a k e p a r t i n t h e at t a c k on In d i an Parliament on ecember 13, 2001. The five-member group of JeM consisted off Burger, Raja, Rana, Haider and H a m z a Mohammad for this specific attack. Burger was tasked to carry the bandolier filled with hand grenades. e met his nemesis in the form of CRPF personnel who were posted to secure Parliament. Burger, alias ohammad, was shot down when he was running with grenades and was about to cross the main gate of he Parliament House. A bullet hit him and the plastic explosive strapped around his waist was detonated nd he was blown into smithereens. Adil reportedly told the sleuths that he had met Burger several times n Karachi along with the top operatives of Indian Mujahidden (IM) Amir Reza Khan and the Bhatkal rothers in a house in the highly secured Defence Housing Authority of Karachi. He was privy to many a onspiracies that were hatched by IM bosses with the ISI operatives. Sources in the Delhi Police said that dil too was sent by ISI handlers to infiltrate into the Indian territory and train young boys for anti-India activities. It has now emerged that it was Adil, who arranged forged passports for Gayur Ahmad Zamali nd Qateel Siddique from the Ranchi regional passport office. They were supposed to go to Pakistan or training but were stopped in their tracks by the Special Cell team.
