Pakistani rangers kill BSF soldier—The Pioneer – 15.5.11

Mohit Kandhari | Jammu

Pakistani rangers on Saturday evening violated ceasefire agreement with India and killed one BSF solider in unprovoked firing in RS Pura sector, official sources said.

The firing from the Pakistani side started around 7.30 pm and went on intermittently for some time. The Pakistani rangers targeted Budhwar forward post on the Indian side in RS Pura sector and killed one BSF jawan of 193 Battalion. Initially the jawan was seriously injured in the exchange of fire but later succumbed to his injuries, official sources said.

The International border with Pakistan in Jammu frontier was relatively peaceful for last 11 months and this is the first ceasefire violation of year 2011 along the IB with Pakistan, official sources said. However, the line of control across the State has witnessed around 10 incidents of ceasefire violations this year.
