Senior Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) leader and Rajya Sabha memb er Ganga Charan Rajput courted trouble after a Jhansi court ordered the local police to nitiate criminal proceedings gainst him and his henchmen including his nephew on harges of duping a man who purchased a jeep from his utomobile agency in Jhansi. The vicitm had to go to the court after failing to get justice from local officers who refused to register a case against the ruling party MP.
Reports said that Netram of Tubewell Road behind Khati Baba Temple in Isaitola locality of Premnagar, Jhansi, bought a Mahindra DI-207 Jeep from GRS Motors Pvt Ltd in the beginning of this year.
GRS Motors Pvt Ltd, owned by Rajput, is situated on JhansiShivpuri Road behind Maruti Nadan School in Raksa locality of Jhansi.
Netram claimed that tyre and tubes of the jeep (UP93T6126) which he purchased were badly damaged and of extremely poor quality at the time of purchase. According to the victim, it seemed as if the original tyres and tubes of the vehicle were replaced with the old and used ones by the agency.
Netram claimed to have contacted the agency owner and made a complaint but to
no avail. He again purchased tyre and tubes from the same agency to replace the damaged ones but he again got the tyres and tubes of the same quality.
As a result, Netram got in touch with Rajput and asked him to pay the compensation to him. But Rajput took no action and kept on lingering the issue.
Nertram added that on September 12, Rajput asked him to bring the jeep for necessary changes. When Netram, accompanied by his son Hemraj Singh, reached the showroom with the vehicle and parked it inside it, both he and his son were kicked out of the showroom and Rajput asked them to forget about the vehicle.
Netram then contacted the local police and met senior police officers but no one came to his help instead he was threatened with dire consequences if raised his voice against the BSP MP.
