After yoga guru Ramdev and Gandhian Anna Hazare, Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh on Thursday targeted Art of Living founder Sri Sri Ravishankar saying the spiritual guru is next in line to be used by the RSS to divert attention from its terror trails.
While the BJP said such a campaign by Singh will only defame Congress further, Ravishankar said he would continue his anti-corruption drive. For his part, Anna extended his vow of silence (maun vrat) and thus will not be attending the core group meeting of the IAS on Saturday.
“Plan A, B and C are of Sangh/BJP to divert the minds of the people from their involvement in terror activities to corruption,“ Digvijay Singh remarked on the micro-blog ging site Twitter on Thursday.
He alleged that the anti-corruption stir by Hazare and Ramdev were part of an over-all plan of RSS-BJP to divert attention from Sangh’s “terror links” and warned the spiritual guru that he too could be used by them.
The Congress leader said while Ramdev and Anna Hazare were plans A and B of the Sangh-BJP, Ravishankar was Plan C and asked the spiritual guru to be “wary” of the two organisations.
Later talking to mediapersons Bangalore, Singh said that Plan A of this over-all scheme has been Baba Ramdev, B is Anna and C is
Sri Sri Ravishankar.
“I hold Sri Ravi Shankarji in high esteem and have done a course in the Art of Living as CM (Chief Minister of) MP (Madhya Pradesh) in 2001. He should be wary of Sangh/ BJP,“ Singh remarked in another post on Twitter.
Brushing aside Singh's remarks linking his anti-corruption fight to RSS-BJP, Ravishankar asserted he would continue his battle against graft.
“A law is necessary. However, a law alone cannot bring down corruption. A moral and spiritual wave has to be created,“ he said in a statement responding to Singh's allegations. Reacting sharply to Singh’s charges, BJP said the Congress leader was attempting to “demonise” all those who are fighting against corruption. “I compliment Digvijay Singh for his important plan of almost shameless way of demonising all those who are fighting against corruption. Good luck to him. The more he speaks, more the Congress will lose its credibility, ” chief spokesperson Ravi Shankar Prasad said.

Meanwhile, with his team under attack and facing questions of probity, Hazare said he would extend his vow of silence as verbal communication with people is leaving him “very weak”. In effect, by extending his vow of silence, which he started on October 16, he would not attend the Core Committee meeting here on Saturday which is expected to discuss controversies engulfing some of Team Anna’s key members.
“My health still does not permit me to give up my maun vrat. There is still some swelling on my feet and the knee troubles me a lot,” 74-year-old Hazare, who is in Ralegan Siddhi which is 200 km from Mumbai, said in his blog.
